3. INEC rejects Oby Ezekwesili’s withdrawal from presidential race

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said it is too late for any candidate to withdraw from contesting any position in the upcoming elections.

Ezekwesili announced her withdrawal on Thursday, saying she wanted to give room for a coalition against candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), OkayNG reports.

5. APC expels Hope Uzodinma from party for anti-party activities

The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expelled, Senator Hope Uzodinma, its governorship candidate over alleged anti-party activities.

Hon Daniel Nwafor, state Chairman of the party, announced the expulsion during a media briefing at the party’s secretariat, said that the action became necessary to save the party from disintegration.

6. Monaco suspends Thierry Henry as permanent manager

Monaco have suspended Thierry Henry as the team’s permanent manager with immediate effect.

The former Arsenal player has been in charge to the French said in October.

7. Mikel Obi joins Middlesbrough on short-term deal

Mikel Obi has completed his move to Middlesbrough after leaving Chinese side Tianjin Teda.

The Nigerian player joined the club as a free agent and will wear the No.2 shirt, afrohits reports.
